Tell us the purpose first
Insurance replacement, estate matters, resale, and personal records can involve different questions and values. Explain why you need the appraisal so we can discuss the appropriate scope, fee, and documentation.
What we examine
Construction, dimensions, materials, design, likely origin and age, condition, repairs, and available history all matter. We distinguish what can be supported from what remains uncertain. A design name alone does not establish where a rug was woven.

Prepare for your appointment
Bring purchase records, earlier appraisals, repair records, and provenance information if available. Start with clear front and back photographs and the rug's dimensions. An in-person inspection may be required before a written appraisal can be completed.
Coordinate with your insurer or adviser
Ask the organization requesting the appraisal about its documentation and appraiser requirements before commissioning work. We can discuss whether our service fits that request. An appraisal does not guarantee a sale price or an insurer's acceptance.
